This year’s annual Boules Blitz Compétition, held over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday, proved to be a resounding success. Blessed with excellent weather conditions -sunny skies and warm temperatures -the event provided the perfect setting for spirited pétanque play.

Under the guidance of Competition Director Jim Ryan, who did an outstanding job in ensuring everything ran smoothly, the tournament was both well organised and highly enjoyable. Jim’s dedication and attention to detail were evident throughout, and his efforts deserve the highest praise.

Players travelled from far and wide to take part, with some arriving by ferry, others by plane, and many after long drives. This diversity of participants, representing different regions and countries, brought an international flavour and added to the excitement of the competition.

The atmosphere throughout the weekend was exceptional,marked by a wonderful blend of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and competitive determination. Every player contributed to the vibrant spirit of the event, making it as much a celebration of friendship and community as of competition.

Special thanks are due to the Frankfield Pétanque Club,whose officers and members worked tirelessly to prepare the venue and ensure that everything was in place. Their commitment and hospitality were key to the event’s success, and their efforts were deeply appreciated by all who attended.

Finally, sincere thanks go to all the players who took part. Without their enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to travel great distance, the Boules Blitz would not be the thriving and memorable competition it continues to be each year.
